Newark's largest annual celebration of arts and culture. For five days each October, the Newark Arts Festival transforms the city into a stage, showcasing hundreds of artists, performances, and cultural experiences across every discipline.

Our first post-pandemic Festival marked Newark's creative comeback—reuniting artists and audiences through outdoor activations, pop-up galleries, and neighborhood block parties celebrating local talent.

Festival 2024

Our 2024 Festival celebrated Newark's creative momentum with 200+ artists, 50 venues, and record-breaking attendance. Highlights included community-commissioned murals and our first-ever artist marketplace.

Festival 2025

"JOY" brought 11,000+ attendees together for a citywide exploration of creativity and community. Dance, live music, and immersive installations activated spaces from downtown to the wards.

Newark Arts Council’s signature annual gala brings together artists, civic leaders, and cultural champions for an evening of celebration and fundraising. Proceeds directly support artist grants, free community programming, and the infrastructure that keeps Newark's creative economy thriving.

Newark's creative living room. Located at 355 Broad Street in partnership with 
Russo Development, ArtSpace is a year-round gallery where local, regional, and national artists exhibit and sell work—and where the community gathers to 
experience art up close.

Newark Arts is now accepting programming and professional development ideas on a rolling basis. If you’re looking to program at Newark ArtSpace, our year-round gallery located at Vermella Broad Street, or have a compelling concept for a program, professional development session, or public event, we want to hear from you. Do you have a workshop, performance, talk, or other event idea you’d like to propose? Share your vision by completing the form below. 

Please note that due to the volume of submissions, we will only contact individuals whose proposals we are immediately interested in pursuing. All submissions will be kept on file for future reference. We will carefully review your submission to explore potential collaborations
