Newark Arts Festival 2026: 25 Years. On Purpose.

For 25 years, Newark Arts Festival has brought artists, institutions, and communities together across the city. As New Jersey’s largest and longest-running arts festival, the 2026 anniversary celebrates the artists, ideas, and cultural leadership shaping Newark today.

On Purpose.

Each year, Newark Arts Festival introduces a theme that frames the conversations and creative work presented across the city. In 2026, Newark Arts Council celebrates its 45th anniversary alongside the 25th anniversary of the Festival it has proudly produced for more than two decades.

The theme On Purpose reflects the intention behind that legacy—artists, partners, and communities choosing year after year to create, collaborate, and shape Newark’s cultural future.
