Sophia’s Daughter in Spring Concert!
Join us for a fairy’s favorite evening: Sophia’s Daughter in Spring! Experience breaths of spoken word poetry, airy acoustic jazz ballads, floral cocktails, and mesmerizing music from the most DIVINE musicians in Newark. We shall have an audio oasis and be surrounded by nature.
This show will also commemorate Haitian Heritage Month (May). We will explore Salon Meringue, a technical Haitian Folk Music genre, compositions by Frantz Casseus + Lolita Cuevas. We cannot wait to share atmospheric arrangements of jazz classics like “La Vie En Rose” and Perdido by Newark’s Lady of Jazz. The show incorporates original music and poetry by Sophia’s Daughter and freeform ballet for an experience that is part theatre, part acoustic concert, and all beauty.
It really will be marvelous. Pou le pays, pou les ancestres.
