This year especially we find it so important to continue our mission to amplify the voices, vision and works of film from LGBTQIA+ BIPOC folx in Newark and beyond. As the only Queer Film Festival in New Jersey focused on BIPOC stories, we are proud to be able to showcase these movies here in Newark, NJ where BIPOC Queer life is vibrant and thriving.

We are continuing our collaboration with Express Newark’s Community Media Center and Paramount’s Content for Change initiative to support emerging LGBTQIA+ filmmakers of the Greater Newark Area with the creation of the Sakia Gunn Legacy Filmmaking Fellowship. Saturday May 3rd at 6:30p we hope you will join us for the premiere of two short films made by this year’s Fellowship awardees. Help us celebrate Sakia and uplift the LGBTQ community that her life helped inspire and protect.
