The Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) and Mayor Brandon M. Scott have officially launched Design Baltimore: Gateways, a $450,000 public design competition aimed at reimagining three of Baltimore's most prominent entrance corridors along Russell Street, Conway Street, and President Street.

We are actively inviting artists, creative teams, architects, urban designers, landscape architects, engineers, planners, and students to submit visionary concepts that celebrate Baltimore’s culture and creative spirit.

Key Details & Highlights

  • Prize Pool: $450,000 total prize pool.

  • Finalist Stipends: 12 finalist teams will each receive a $25,000 stipend to further develop their proposals.

  • Grand Winners: One winning team will be selected for each of the three corridors, receiving an additional $50,000 award.

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST.
