Opo’s Canon is excited to announce that artist submissions are now open for our upcoming SoundWater Gala — an art auction and gala event with the intention of using art to encourage community investment and support. With the theme of the night being "Wholisticism & The Wholistic Era", this Gala and art auction is serving as a fundraiser for our community partner  Brother's Building A Better Nation in their efforts to fundraise $250,000 for the construction of the 7th Avenue Community Center (scroll down on their homepage for more information).

This year’s Gala will showcase five themed galleries, each exploring a unique facet of The Wholistic Era:

1. Vague Terms
2. Eco-Location
3. SoundWater
4. Wholistic Love
5. NWU.PFM (Diaspora Gallery)

Full descriptions of each theme are available here, where you’ll find more guidance and information on what we are looking for including Artists who were accepted and sold pieces at our last Art Auction.

We also have reels on our Instagram page @opos_canon that offer visual and narrative insight into each prompt. Artists are strongly encouraged to view these before submitting.

Submission Requirements

To be eligible for consideration, artists must:
✔️ Follow @opos_canon on Instagram
✔️ Complete the submission form located in our Instagram bio
✔️ Submit all required materials by December 15th

We welcome artists of all backgrounds and mediums — visual art, digital media, sculpture, textile, interdisciplinary work, and beyond. If your work resonates with one of our themes, we want to see it. Artists may submit multiple pieces.
