The Africana Institute and Student Life & Activities Office at Essex County College warmly invites you to our Annual Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration, a vibrant evening honoring our heritage, community, and collective uplift as we continue our 25th Anniversary Year of Revitalizing, Reconnecting, and Strengthening African Global Cultural, Social, and Intellectual Heritage.

Join us for an inspiring cultural experience featuring a live performance by the Egun Emode Arts Collective, whose rhythmic storytelling, drumming, and dance bring the principles of Kwanzaa to life.

This year’s celebration also includes our Kwanzaa Marketplace, where local artisans and small businesses will offer a beautiful selection of cultural goods, handcrafted gifts, wellness items, books, jewelry, apparel, and more—perfect for holiday shopping while supporting Black-owned enterprises.

Enjoy an atmosphere filled with tradition, unity, and joy as we gather to celebrate the season and the richness of the African Diaspora.

Food will be provided FREE & Open to the public
