The statistic is sobering: Men die four to five years earlier than women, often from preventable causes.

Take charge of your health and learn from an expert panel who will discuss breakthroughs in early detection and strategies for optimizing physical and mental well-being for men.

In addition, the evening will include blood pressure, colon cancer and other health screenings, plus useful resources from 50 Commerce Dental Center, AARP, Brick City Run, Clara Maass Medical Center, LivFit Fitness and RWJBarnabas Health.

All attendees will be entered into a raffle to win a new Apple Watch courtesy of AARP.

In partnership with Dodge Poetry, the program will open with words from Paul LaTorre, aka Paul con Queso, a published poet and member of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe who uses verse as a means for activism around mental health and social justice.
