Multimedia work created all by women using art to express their different emotions, feelings and thoughts about life. We as women have to put on many hats, mothers, daughters, wives, workers, care givers, lovers, artists and the list goes on and on. We may not always see our struggles the same way but Art is our common ground. Curated by Luisa Pinzon.

Artists: Lauren Curtis, Laura Cuevas, Sylvia Padilla, Deborah Marcano, Kathryn Eddy, Ellen Y. O'Dwyer-Woods, Jae Quinlan, Athena Lynch, Nadine Lafonde, Grace Marquinhos, Sandie Lee Butler, Michelle Butler, Luisa Pinzon, Allison Capel

Artist, Andrea DeFelice's Statement:
This performance [presently "Untitled"] is primarily about transformation and reaction. It is based upon my own reactions to my personal relationship to sound and communication. I use the piano as a symbol of this relationship. The knife-throwing craft is a newly acquired skill. I use this craft in the performance as a symbol of the relationship to anything learned in order to adjust or to protect oneself to forces beyond his/her control. I'm more or less attacking the piano as it is slowly damaged and transformed by the knives. The backboard, the keys, the interior soundboard, and the piano hammers are all being hit. Microphones are attached to both the piano as well as within the surrounding space. This was first performed in a raw warehouse space that was currently undergoing renovations. At the time the space was empty with only exposed cement, and had a portion of the ceiling open to the sky. This amplified the sounds in addition to the microphones and electronic amplifiers. All sounds and visuals were recorded.

The performance lasted approximately 30 minutes where 100 knives were thrown, as well as 30 blades fired [with a modified crossbow], at an upright piano. This was originally intended to be [one] part of several additional performances and/or installations all in relationship to each other. I am presently planning to organize the additions within the next two years.
