From her very humble beginnings in New Jersey City University, Ms. Carranza has always been passionate about showcasing her works. Since 2005 she has been featured in galleries such as The Gallery, Gallery 744 and La Ola. In addition, Ms. Carranza has had the distinct honor to have interned with the Newark Museum, New Jersey’s most recognized promoter, educator and sponsor of the arts. Artist Statement
Balance is a piece that is meant to be felt and experienced. A bowl of water and a linen cloth, to cleanse and dry the hands, invite the viewer to touch the piece because the method used by the blind to read Braille is to feel it. I used the Braille system to communicate a message that I believe may unify people and encourage them to see beyond what they are looking at and trust in what they are feeling.
