Sylvia Padilla:
These paintings are shields of war. They are a shocking confrontation of abstracted, collaged forms. Speaking to the seduction of war, they become gritty, and uncomfortable to take in. Using army camouflage color codes, fabric wrapping, and found objects, the following works mount fierce battle against the brutal realities of war.
