Artist Statement
I am an artist and photography is my weapon of choice. I've had a love for it since I was little, but it was'nt until recently I realized that capturing " life moments" is what I'm supposed to be doing.
I find inspiration in anything and everything, from the sweetest note of rain falling on a quiet evening to the tenderness of a mother nursing her newborn child. My family migrated to New Jersey in the early 90's and I quickly fell in love with hip-hop culture and it's creative expressions of graffitti, dee-jaying, and breakdancing. Adding these elements to my jazz-based foundation opened the door for me to find new ways of expression.
Creation, urban culture and the journey of life with it's various tragedies & beauties are re-ocurring themes in my work. Being allergic to complacency, I constantly strive to grow as an artist, but more importantly as a person. Looking to keep things fresh, I'm always looking for collaborations. Because quite frankly " you can go 'batty' from the sound of your own voice at times.
Presently I am branching out into other mediums of artistic expressions through stencil art & oil paints, while I pursue my Bfa from the Art Academy Institute in San Fransico.
