Kenneth
Schnall did
graduate programs on painting, printmaking and art history at The
School of Visual Arts (SVA), in NYC. He received a fellowship for
painting study in Urbino, Italy, where he came in contact with artists
associated with the Transvanguardist art movement. A succeeding
painting fellowship to the Palazzo Fortuny in Venice, absorbing
the citiy's rich culture. "At that time, with clearer
focus and goals, I felt I had become a 'painter' and was not just
'painting'."
He
received an NEA Grant in '95 to produce a limited edition book project
at the Center for Innovative Printmaking in NJ, a 1999 painting
fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center, and a Geraldine R. Dodge
fellowship to work at the Virgina Center for the Creative Arts.
Exhibiting
nationally and internationally soince 1962, he had his first one
man show in NYC in 1972. His work is included in corporate and museum
collections in New Jersey and New York.
