Jun'ichiro Ishida
was born in Kobe, Japan. His painting is the hybrid of east and west,
past and future. He believes that his art should promote the good
side of human nature and challenges the notion of self serving, self
important, self expressionistic art. He wants his piece to wake up
his audience, who may be idling in the floating world instead of advancing
to the next level of consciousness. His paintings are radiant energy
captured on canvas in acrylic, alternating between delicate lines
and splashes. The pieces to be shown at the Newark Open Studio were
created with these techniques and concepts in mind during his recent
residency at the Vermont Studio Center. |
