The Nexus of Things: An Artist Statement
As an intermedia artist I am interested in creating discreet objects, video, web art, and performance which formally engage at the nexus of digital and traditional media. These objects, moments and actions are sensory cultural artifacts relative and parallel, on occasion crossing, at other times pure fantasy to my lived experience; they are "Fantabiography," the mixing of fantasy and biography, with the goal of disseminating a fabricated popular  culture. And like culture my work is inspired and informed by psychology, geography, technology, history, family, experience and myriad other subsets of these; exemplified in the appropriation, assimilation, and reconstruction of recognizable artifacts into personal schemata, serial imagery, 3-dimensional objects, time-based photography/video and performance.
