Anker West


Anker West received a BFA in Sculpture from Philadelphia College of Art in 1985, and studied architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology, in the graduate program, in Autumn of 1993 and Spring of 1994. With Sustainable Design Associates, he was awarded first prize in the Southside Broad Street design competition, for Providence, RI, 1998. Anker received a 2002 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Design Artist in Residence at The Newark Museum, teaching Urban Design in two Newark Public Schools

Working on designing the East Coast Greenway route through Newark, connecting Hudson and Union Counties

Exhibiting ceramics and drawings of Newark themes in the Art Reach: The Exhibition X at City Without Walls Gallery in Newark through August 23

Preparing for a one man exhibition of ceramics at the Dana Library Gallery at Rutgers Newark, opening in March, 2003
